Management of a competency-based curriculum in the d3 and d4 years requires dynamic tools to provide current, on-demand, and accurate data for the users: students, faculty, and support staff. The electronic health record, axiUm provides flexibility to integrate compatible software programs to better visualize data. The University of Maryland School of Dentistry chose the business analytics platform, Tableau to create an academic dashboard that
collates electronic data from multiple sources to see the pertinent preclinical, alternate clinical, and clinical progression and competency data to fit their tailored oversight need.
