(TE-218) Preclinical Education: Multidisciplinary Practice of Dentistry via Interactive Online Modules

Introduction to clinical rotations may be intimidating and overwhelming as students shift from didactics to observing procedures being performed by upper classmen. In order to ease this transition, first year dental students at New York University College of Dentistry are required to view interactive online modules as part of the Multidisciplinary Practice of Dentistry course. Each module is to provide foundational knowledge in order to make the clinical experience relevant, relatable, and understandable. This online interactive engagement must be completed prior to in-person clinical observations. They include infection control, oral hygiene, fluoride varnish application, and head and neck examination.
