Preclinical exercises on typodont teeth have been a critical component in prosthodontic and restorative dentistry curricula. Although much dedicated effort has been made in calibrating faculty, feedback and grading remains inherently subjective. In this presentation, clinicians will learn to enhance faculty feedback with digital technology allowing for more objective, immediate feedback of students’ preparations. Presenters will demonstrate use of the software using a dental student’s pre-scanned crown preparation and assist participants through a hands-on experience with digital technology. Valuable insight on how to successfully implement this innovative technology at one’s home institution will also be discussed.
