(TE-222) Technology Adaptation to COVID-19 Pandemic: COVID Testing IT Systems Processes

New policies and procedures for were developed for providing dental care during the COVID Pandemic. IT played a key role that included pre-procedure PCR COVID testing for patients having aerosol generating procedures, and a Vaccination Hub. The technology involved the use of the Medical and Dental Electronic Record Systems (E.H.R.). Patients were scheduled and results retrieved in the Medical E.H.R. These results were also documented in the Dental E.H.R. for students and faculty. Dental patients were invited and electronically self-scheduled for COVID vaccinations. These technologies enabled 18,941 tests and contributed to a 75.4% COVID vaccination rate of adult patients.
