During this tech expo session, dental educators will learn to navigate through necessary steps needed to file a patent at their respective institutions using simple software and technology. Clinicians will be inspired to creatively think of an idea and guidance will be provided on how to collaborate with private industry or other research entities for product development. In addition, critical documents such as a collaborative research agreement and intellectual property licensing agreement will be discussed. A simple digital flowchart will be provided for educators to navigate through the basic workflow of filing a patent at one's institution using technological tools.
