Open to ACVS, ECVS, and ACVAA Diplomates and Residents
This laboratory is the evolution of the previously-held tracheal stent laboratories. The laboratory is designed to teach beginners, as well as those with more experience, the indications and technical aspects of performing tracheal stenting:
• Case selection criteria • Medical and interventional management • Troubleshooting • Difficult and complex case treatment • Handling and avoiding complications • Follow-up instructions for clients and referring vets
Each attendee should expect to learn about the decision-making process of tracheal stenting from beginning to end and will go through patient positioning, obtaining appropriate measurement radiographs, performing measurements and stent selection, and stent placement under fluoroscopic guidance. Focusing on basic as well as the most technical aspects of tracheal stenting permits more time for case discussion, more advanced demonstration of selected stent placement tips and techniques, and stent removal.
