ACVAA Diplomates in Large Specialty Practices: Expectations of the Practice

A discussion of the various ways an anesthesiologist can establish themselves and an anesthesia service in a large specialty practice will be the focus of this lecture. Different models of service growth in addition to training and quality assurance aspects of the anesthesiologist role will be discussed. Sample approaches to building a new anesthesia service will be reviewed. Likewise, the contributions an anesthesiologist can provide in established anesthesia services as it pertains to collaboration with other departments as part of a comprehensive care approach to delivery of veterinary specialty services will be discussed.
