While significant advances have been made in the field of Regenerative Medicine over the past decade, there are still many unanswered questions surrounding the therapeutic use of stem cells and other biologics. This talk reviews the types of stem cells and point-of-care biologic products available for use in horses including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), autologous conditioned serum (ACS) or IRAP, and autologous protein solution (APS). The differences between each product and the current evidence for their use are discussed with a focus on use for stifle disease.
