Management of patients with burn wounds can be a long but extremely rewarding process. Addressing the local burn wound itself needs a multimodal approach to account for the cellular and metabolic damage. Strategies to control pain, encourage tissue healing and definitive closure are discussed during this lecture. New concepts in wound healing such as fish skin grafts are highlighted.
