As multiple-drug-resistant and biofilm infections become more prevalent in veterinary patients, practical strategies to treat these infections are needed to decrease morbidity and mortality. During this seminar, speakers will present current information on antimicrobial resistance and biofilms, focusing on treatment strategies, antimicrobial choices, and good stewardship of antimicrobials for perioperative antibiosis, surgical site infections, and treatment of other surgery-related infections such as wounds.
