The resource-intensive footprint of surgery in the human hospital setting is increasingly under scrutiny from environmental, legislative, and economic perspectives. Though the veterinary surgery footprint is comparatively small compared with the human medical field, changes are likely to affect the practice of veterinary surgery. Lectures in this seminar focus on identifying the resource and environmental impacts of veterinary surgery and the opportunities and challenges presented by changes in resource management practices.
