Skin diseases are an important health problem in horses and the skin is the most common location for equine tumors. Although it is well known that the consequences of any of these tumors growing unimpeded can be disastrous, a rather casual approach to skin neoplasia in horses is still commonplace among horse owners - and some veterinarians. This indifference to the presence of skin tumors, their diagnosis and their treatment will be discussed using various case examples.
