This seminar looks at common emergencies seen through the emergency room and evaluates the evidence warranting the utilization of the emergency surgery service. There is discussion regarding possible controversy on case types and disputes between services on when cases should proceed to surgery on an emergency basis. Through this seminar, we fuel discussions that may result in ideas for studies that should be conducted to aid in decision-making.
