High quality digital radiographs have become a common tool in the management of young Thoroughbreds before sales or racing. These radiograph sets provide a unique opportunity to understand when radiographic abnormalities form and often heal, and to help understand developmental orthopedic disease. The stifle joint is frequently affected by radiographic abnormalities and a group of young horses was followed radiographically from 6 to 18 months to document the changes in the radiographic appearance pf the joint.
