The incidence of fracture nonunion is highest in the canine radius compared to other long bones. This session discusses methods to decrease the incidence of nonunion, delayed union, and malunion for fractures of the radius and ulna. Topics include preoperative planning, implant selection, the biological approach to fracture fixation, postoperative management, and common complications. Clinical cases are reviewed.
