DVM Candidate, Class of 2024
Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine
Ithaca, New York
Originally from Long Island, New York, Ali Mohamed Aly is a third-year veterinary student at Cornell University. During his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, Ali participated in neuroscience research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and was a member of the varsity men’s swimming team. His research examined the neuronal basis of sensation and perception and interactions between specific brain regions when coordinating complex, context-dependent behavioral responses in mice. Working closely with his mentors at Cornell, Ali has contributed to several clinical research projects and is thrilled to be sharing the findings from one at this year’s ACVS Surgery Summit. He aspires to specialize in small animal surgery and is interested in orthopedic, neurosurgical, and vascular/non-vascular interventional procedures. Outside of his veterinary pursuits, Ali enjoys swimming recreationally and visiting his extended family in Egypt as often as possible.
