Rita Aoun is an electrical engineer with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering who has always been fascinated by the electrical communications and branching in the human body. Rita acquired most of their research experience through graduate studies. Rita worked within a multidisciplinary research group consisting of pharmacologists, neurobiologists, biophysicists, and electrical and biomedical engineers. Rita has acquired a lot of knowledge in the biomedical research field and is eager to apply it in the veterinary clinical medicine in their PhD program at LECOR, LSU. Rita is currently working on a couple of projects, including studying the shoeing effect on the biomechanics of laminitic horses. Rita will be developing new skills in different areas, including regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomechanical and motion studies. Being involved with such innovative broad research will allow Rita to build numerous experiences while working towards improving our society’s overall health.
