Cheng-Yuan Sun, VMD is a graduate of National Taiwan University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is currently studying for Master's degree at the Institute of Veterinary Clinical Science, School of Veterinary Medicine Laboratory, working under the supervision of Dr. Ching-Ho Wu. Sun’s research has focused on the canine gait analysis and biomechanics of cranial cruciate ligament disease. His current project has focused on the improvement of intra-articular reconstruction surgery and three-dimensional biomechanical analysis in canines with cranial cruciate ligament deficiency.
Besides research, Sun has also actively enrolled in clinical practice. Previously, Sun worked as a post-baccalaureate intern, where he completed training for clinical anesthesia and training in animal care. During the studying period, Sun participated in stray animal rescue program, where he instructs undergraduate students to treat injured or sick stray animals. Sun has also invested in continuing education programs such as IRCAD Veterinary Laparoscopic Surgery Course and MPL corrective osteotomy workshop. With his interest in orthopedics, he’s looking forward to becoming board certified orthopedic surgeon and continuing his research in the future.
