Dr. Stampley is a native of Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and veterinary degree from Tuskegee University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Afterwards she completed a small animal internship at the University of Georgia and surgical residency at the University of Florida. Following her residency, she joined the surgery faculty at the University of Florida. After two years, she returned to the University of Georgia to continue her academic career. Following her academic career, she started a mobile surgery practice in northeast Georgia. Dr. Stampley became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1993. She has published numerous articles and has lectured on subjects that range from fracture repair to work-life balance.
Dr. Stampley started Athens Veterinary Surgery Center with Dr. Myron Downs in 2002. They also own and operate the Animal Emergency Hospital in Athens, GA. Dr. Stampley is active in her local community and mentors young people pursuing veterinary medicine as a career. She and her husband Myron have four beautiful children.
