Dr. Caston is an associate professor and co-section head of equine surgery at Iowa State University (ISU). She grew up in southeast Texas and completed her undergraduate studies at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. Dr. Caston then returned to Texas to attend Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Following a surgery residency and two years as an emergency surgeon, she took a faculty position at ISU. Her current research and interests include equine neoplasia, immunotherapy, soft tissue surgery, wound healing, and veterinary education and simulator training.
