Dr. Farnsworth, an associate professor at Washington State University, is a 1993 graduate of Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, he completed an equine ambulatory internship at The Ohio State University, after which he began a three-year equine surgery residency at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC) in Leesburg, Virginia, a satellite campus for the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon completion of his surgery residency, Dr. Farnsworth remained at the EMC as a clinical instructor/research assistant studying the efficacy of sustained release devices for local deliver of antibiotics in equine joints. In January 2000, Dr. Farnsworth accepted a faculty position as a large animal surgeon at the University of Minnesota. During this time, he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Farnsworth moved back to Washington State University in April of 2002 and is currently an associate professor in equine surgery. Dr. Farnsworth’s clinical areas of interest include equine oncology and equine orthopedic surgery. He enjoys teaching and has presented at over 75 professional meetings.
