As Global Director of Sustainability at Mars Veterinary Health, Margo Mosher is working to implement more sustainable practices across the business to help deliver on the Mars Veterinary Health vision to advance the veterinary profession through care for people, pets and the planet. Margo is supporting Mars Veterinary Health's global hospital businesses, including AniCura, Banfield, BluePearl, Linnaeus and VCA, to understand and improve sustainability impacts across the areas of environment, people and pets. Margo joined the team in 2021 and her work so far has focused on environmental impacts related to climate change, waste and antimicrobial resistance. Her work has included developing approaches for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from anesthesia and hospital practices, improving impacts from the procurement of medical supplies, reducing waste in hospitals, and developing materials for educating veterinarians on antimicrobial resistance. She has been collaborating with sustainability leaders across the business to assess Mars Veterinary Health's baseline impacts in these areas. This work can help inform the veterinary industry and identify opportunities for how the industry can lessen its environmental footprint. Margo is passionate about making pet ownership sustainable and building a sustainable future.
Margo joins Mars Veterinary Health from the field of corporate sustainability consulting, where she worked for the past ten years at SustainAbility, Inc. and ERM. Margo has supported dozens of large, multi-national clients to develop their sustainability strategies that drive impactful change across a breadth of issues such as climate change, human rights, sustainable sourcing, and health and wellbeing. Margo received her master of environmental management at Yale School of the Environment. Margo is a proud pet parent to her rabbit, Hooper.
