Dr. Goodrich graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete an internship at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in equine surgery and medicine. She then completed an equine surgery residency at Marion DuPont Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia and obtained a master of science in pharmacology. Following her residency she became board-certified in equine surgery and was a faculty surgeon at Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY. While at Cornell, she also obtained her PhD in cellular and molecular biology of cartilage repair with Dr. Alan Nixon. In 2005, she joined the faculty at Colorado State University (CSU) as an assistant professor in equine surgery and lameness. She is currently a professor of equine surgery and lameness and specializes in equine orthopedics. She is also translational scientist at the Equine Orthopaedic Research Center and Translational Medicine Institute at CSU. Her research focuses on regenerative medicine and gene therapies for musculoskeletal repair.
