After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Matthews was in practice for five years before returning to Cornell to complete an anesthesia residency. Although Dr. Matthews spentmany years teaching at Texas A & M University, for the last nine years Dr. Matthews has locumed at several universities and large practices, providing a much broader view about how anesthesiologists function in practice as well as in university.
