This laboratory is designed for the surgeon who wishes to become more involved with 3D printing but is not sure where to start. It covers all aspects of 3D printing, from how to process a CT scan to all the ways to obtain a file for 3D printing.

Discussions include a comparison of the types of printers available along with some of the advantages and disadvantages of each.

During the laboratory, we will go over the basics of how to make guides for the drilling and cutting of bone. We discuss how to implement this into your practice from basic model printing to surgical planning guides.

Each participant will work on a dedicated computer and process a file in real time, gaining experience and tips about the process. A basic surgical guide is created using that file.
