Burnout is increasingly common in veterinary professionals and our recent data suggests that it may be even higher in academic specialists. You must be able to measure burnout in your practice in order to assess where you are now and to measure any improvements after interventions. This lecture will introduce several freely available instruments that can be used to assess burnout in veterinary specialists and will present our recent findings in a large academic department.
