ACVS and AO VET North America to Offer AO PEER

ACVS is partnering with AO VET North America to offer the AO Program for Education and Excellence in Research (AO PEER) at the 2022 Surgery Summit.

Course Description

This accredited blended course addresses the importance of research and evidence-based medicine, the relevant ethical considerations, and guidelines for Good Clinical Practice. Participants will learn how to formulate a clinical research question and practice skills related to critical literature review, including working with a statistician and navigating AO PEER.

Prior to meeting at the Surgery Summit, participants will complete a self-directed online course with eight consecutive modules beginning September 12, 2022. An interactive forum will be available during the advance course work to provide participants the opportunity to exchange thoughts and challenges.

Following the completion of the online self-paced portion of the course, participants will gather in person on Wednesday, October 12, at the Surgery Summit.

The ideal candidates for this program are ACVS residents; however, the program is also open to ACVS Diplomates.
