Echocardiography for Mitral Intervention

Echocardiography plays a central role in case selection, procedural planning, procedural guidance, and follow-up for mitral valve interventions. This lecture will focus on echocardiographic assessment of etiology, functional mechanisms, leaflet segment analysis, leaflet coaptation, and quantitative analysis of degenerative mitral regurgitation in dogs before and after mitral intervention. Techniques for procedural guidance for mitral intervention will also be reviewed.
