Dr. Kelly Makielski DVM, MS, DACVIM (SAIM) is a veterinary internist currently in a post-doctoral research fellowship in the lab of Dr. Jaime Modiano at the University of Minnesota's Masonic Cancer Center. Dr. Makielski completed veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with her DVM in 2010. After vet school, Dr. Makielski completed a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, before completing a residency and concurrent Master's in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Iowa State University. Dr. Makielski is currently a post-doc in the Modiano lab, where she is performing translational research including projects involving immunotherapy and exosomes in spontaneous canine osteosarcoma. She is the recipient of an NIH Cancer Biology T32 Training Grant.
