Bianca Lourenço obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Porto in Portugal, in 2010. She worked as a general practitioner prior to completing rotating internships at the University of Cambridge and North Carolina State University. She trained in small animal internal medicine at the University of Georgia, obtaining her Diploma in 2016. She continued at UGA for a Ph.D. focused on the mechanisms of progression of canine and feline chronic kidney disease, which she completed in 2019. She joined the Internal Medicine faculty at UGA in September that year.
