Chief cardiologist
Veterinary Teaching Hospital at National Chung Hsing University
Taichung, Taichung, Taiwan (Republic of China)
I have been worked at Veterinary Teaching Hospital National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan since 2003. Due to enthusiasm for Cardiology, I applied to be a visiting doctor in Cardiac Catheter Lab at Taichung Veterans General Hospital Cardiovascular Center in 2008 and spent 3 months learning cardiac catheterization. The next year, I performed the first Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) coil embolization and balloon valvuloplasty in Taiwan. In 2011, I was assigned by my university to go abroad for cardiology training. I was trained at Cardiology Department at Purdue University for almost 2 years. I performed the first case of ACDO closure of PDA in Taiwan in 2013.
I love sharing my knowledge with my colleagues and students and was impressed the interactional teaching when I stayed in Purdue. Thus, I started interactional teaching style in my class and used question-and-answer games and discussions to inspire the students. In 2015, cardiology department was established officially in my university. I was the only one veterinary cardiologist at that time in the teaching hospital. In 2017, I established the cardiology residency training program in the teaching hospital and had the first cardiology resident of mine.
I love clinical work. I love teaching and sharing. I love doing clinical study. I was chosen as a board-certificate cardiologist in Asian College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (AiCVIM) this year (< 3 in Taiwan) and became only one in National Chung Hsing University.
