I am a proud Colorado native and rising third year veterinary student at Colorado State University. I earned both my Bachelors in Biology and Masters Microbiology/Immunology degrees at CSU. I have always been interested in immunology so when my mentor, Dr. Michael Lappin, told me about this project it only took reading one paper on Shar-Pei fever for me to jump aboard.
I took the scenic route to veterinary school, applying 7 times before her acceptance, but is incredibly thankful for my journey here. At present, I am interested in pursuing research as a career but is open to where my path leads. Other personal interests include the use of integrative medicine in whole body health, feline behavior, and oncology.
I am a virology tutor, vice president of the student chapter of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and an officer in the student chapter of American Association of Feline Practitioners club. When not in school, I am a proud member of the Cats of Instagram community with my cat Charles (@charleshasninelives) and am grateful for our furriends around the globe.
