Demia graduated from the University of Sydney in 2013, and then completed an internship at the University of Queensland. She then moved to the US to commence a Residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Florida. Since her return to Australia, she has been employed as a Lecturer in Equine Medicine at James Cook University and teaches undergraduate veterinary science students. Demia is also undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland, and is investigating the pathophysiology of laminitis.
