David Singleton qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2015 and was awarded a PhD exploring antimicrobial use and resistance surveillance in companion animals in 2019. He is interested in developing and assessing behavioural and vaccine interventions to slow the rate of antimicrobial resistance development and dissemination in the medical and veterinary sectors, using both 'big data' clinical record-based and in-field approaches. He also volunteers for 'Care for the Paw', a Liverpool-based charity providing veterinary care for animals belonging to the homeless community of the Merseyside region of the UK.
