Chief of Bacteriophage Science Division
Biological Defense Research Directorate, NMRC, US NAVY
Frederick, Maryland, United States
I am a highly experienced microbiologist specializing in phage therapy and currently serving as Chief of the Phage Science Division of Biological Defense Research Directorate within the Naval Medical Research Center. With funding from DOD and Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, we were able to develop a phage library to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. These research efforts informed rapid transition of our precision-based phage therapy technology to our corporate partner, Adaptive Phage Therapeutics for advanced development and clinical trials. My research also directed to prophylactic and diagnostic applications of phages.
