Professor emeritus of dairy cattle nutrition at The Ohio State University. His main research areas were factors affecting digestibility, relationships between minerals and vitamins and cow health, and developing methods to incorporate variability into ration formulation. Dr. Weiss has published more than 140 journal articles and has won several ADSA awards. He was a member of the 2001 NRC Dairy Committee and is serving as co-chair on the 2021 NRC Dairy Committee. Dr. Weiss earned his B.S. and M.S. at Purdue University and his Ph.D. at The Ohio State University.
