Dr. Herdt is a retired faculty member and past chairperson of the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at Michigan State University. He was also Chief of the Nutrition Section of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and in that capacity was involved in the analysis and diagnostic interpretation of hepatic trace element concentrations in cattle and other species.
