Gilles Fecteau graduated from the Université de Montréal, St-Hyacinthe veterinary school in 1986 and completed an internship in food animal medicine and surgery. In 1993, he completed his residency in large animal medicine at UC Davis and become a Diplomate of ACVIM. He is currently full professor in the Clinical Sciences department in St-Hyacinthe. In 1999 and 2020, he received the Pfizer (now Zoetis) excellence research award. Gilles Fecteau is first and foremost a clinician but his interets in research are infectious diseases of dairy cattle and newborn.
