After graduating from Cambridge Vet School and several years in practice, Lucy undertook a PhD at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), followed by a small animal medicine residency in Cambridge. She completed a Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cambridge Institite for Medical Research and a further Wellcome Fellowship in Oxford, at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics. She is an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow and Professor of Clinical Genetics at the RVC. Lucy leads the MASCOT consortium (Mapping Animal Susceptibility to Coronaviruses: Outcomes and Transcriptomics) and the Canine Diabetes Genetics Partnership.
