After graduation from Glasgow Vet School, and 11 years in primary care, Geoff obtained the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology (2008) and RCVS specialist status (2011) at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. He heads the Cardiology Service there and is a Roslin Institute Clinical Research Associate.
His main research interest is cardiovascular-renal interactions. Following a PhD at the Queen’s Medical Research Institute, investigating endothelin-1 in renal salt handling in diabetes, his post-doctoral work is targeting inappropriate renal sodium transport in diabetes to restore circadian regulation of blood pressure.
