Unlicensed GS-441524-like compounds (which are structurally very similar to remdesivir) are being successfully used to treat and cure FIP around the globe. As these drugs are mostly obtained on the black market, this is largely occurring in clients' homes with little veterinary oversight. This session will discuss recent research related to this phenomenon, including prospective survey data, clinicopathologic correlates, and the potential for alternative antiviral compounds.

Increased awareness of the extent of unlicensed GS-441524-like drug use, as well as the methodology being used by lay owners and social media website administrators.
Discuss the veterinarians' role in diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring, particularly in light of recent clinicopathologic outcome data.
Understand factors that influence therapeutic success according to recent evidence.
