The availability of extracorporeal therapies is increasing throughout the world. New devices and platforms are being created in human and veterinary medicine, allowing for new treatment opportunities. These new technologies expand the indications for treatment and also allow for improvements in patient safety. Newer methods of dialysis/CRRT, plasma exchange, and cell collection will be discussed.
