Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome has increased significantly due to the popularity of brachycephalic breeds. Historically, the concern has been focused on surgical correction to alleviate respiratory conditions. This concern remains today along with an increase of signs involving the digestive tract. This presentation will review the signs associated with digestive issues, along with the anatomic and pathophysiologic characteristics contributing to the alimentary tract in Brachycephalic breeds. Nutritional management to alleviate digestive disease of brachycephalics will be discussed, along with tips for communicating with the pet owner.
