Dr. Gold graduated from a dual program at Washington State University/Oregon State University in 2002. Completed a rotating internship in equine medicine and surgery at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in 2003. Completed a 3-year residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at Cornell University- became a Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Worked in private practice for 2 years before taking a clinical assistant professor position at Texas A&M University Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. During that time at Texas A&M I completed a 2-year fellowship in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. Became a Diplomate American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care-Large Animal
Dr. Gold did a locum in the UAE, working for the Sheik of Dubai at Dubai Equine Hospital. She worked on endurance, race, and performance horses performing internal medicine and critical care.
She is a Associate Professor in Equine Internal Medicine at WSU since 2015. She primarily works on horses but does help with agricultural animals as well.
Areas of interest are neonatology/Sepsis, respiratory physiology/exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage, pain management in equine, endocrine/metabolic disease.
