Melanie studied at the LMU Munich and subsequently received her doctorate in the specialty of gastroenterology. She then started a residency in small animal internal medicine at the Department of Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Munich. Since 2022, she has been working at the Clinic for Small Animal Medicine Vetsuisse Zurich in the field of internal medicine and gastroenterology. Her research interests include the rational use of antimicrobials in enteropathies and diagnostic and therapeutic strategies involving the intestinal microbiome.
