Kellyn earned her DVM at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and was subsequently in general and emergency veterinary practice for four years. She then completed a small animal internal medicine internship at Center for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care outside of Dallas, Texas. Following this, she began a combined research fellowship + small animal internal medicine residency at Texas A&M University. Her first research fellowship year was spent working with the Dog Aging Project (DAP) before beginning her internal medicine residency the following year.
