Resident in Equine Medicine
Murdoch University, Australia
Muriel Sacks is currently undergoing a residency training program in Large Animal Internal Medicine at Murdoch University in Perth WA.
After graduating in veterinary medicine from the University of Zurich in Switzerland in 2014, she worked in large animal anaesthesia and pain management as an assistant at the university hospital equine department in Zurich, whilst designing, performing and publishing a clinical study to complete her doctoral degree in veterinary medicine (Dr. med. vet.).
Thereafter, she moved to Perth and worked in clinical teaching and research positions at Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia, prior to sitting the Australian National Veterinary Exam. Once registered as a veterinarian in WA, she commenced her equine internship at Murdoch University in 2018 and continued with the start of her residency in 2019. By performing further research within the field of equine internal medicine during her residency, she aims to gain more insight into equine pulmonary physiology and establish advanced diagnostics for lung disease in foals.
