Dr. Scorza is currently an Instructor at the Center for Companion Animal Studies (CCAS) She graduated from La Plata University (Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina) and then finished a PhD program in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University. Her research interests are diagnosis and transmission of zoonotic diseases of companion animals. Examples of her research include parasite testing and molecular characterization of Giardia duodenalis and Cryptosporidium spp. and vector borne zoonotic pathogens (Ehrlichia spp. and Bartonella spp.) in animal samples from veterinary practitioners and from research projects at the CCAS. Dr Scorza also performs testing of Cryptosporidium spp. in scat samples from the Portland Water Reservoir.
