As technicians most of us have a visceral understanding of coagulation and coagulopathies. However, many of us don't have an actual comprehension of the underlying pathophysiology. This will be a discussion of the basic principles of the cell based model of hemostasis. We will also review hemostatic testing and common coagulopathies

Upon completion, participant should have a better understanding of the principles of hemostasis
Upon completion, participant will be able to demonstrate the utility of hemostatic testing
