Endourology in male dogs presents some unique challenges and is routinely performed using a human ureteroscope. The Karl Storz Flex XC has an insertion tube diameter of just 8.3Fr and is ideally suited for both diagnostic and interventional endourology in canine patients. In this session, we will discuss the use of this scope in the management of a range of conditions such as obstructive and non-obstructive urolithiasis, urinary tract neoplasia, unexplained hematuria and urinary incontinence.

Learning Objectives:

Describe the indications for diagnostic urethroscopy and cystoscopy in male dogs.
Describe routine endourological procedures such as laser lithotripsy and tissue biopsy using a flexible device.
Understand the key considerations for selection of a flexible urology scope for use in canine patients.
